Laure Sevapore
A visit to Paris. A frst and brief shoot with Laure and making some new friends in this incredibly creative city.
My trip to Paris had been booked ages ago, my friend Elena had suggested it. But it was Irena who convinced me to shoot with Laure. Every night in Fuerteventura Irina and I would chat about photographers and models, and every night she mentioned Laure. So this shoot was both spontaneous and preordained and I’m so glad it came together the way it did.
My weekend in Paris was 80% social, 20% photography. These photos were the product of just two hours with Laure. Her inherent creativity is why I think we connected so quickly and why I was able to capture so many images. Enough to warrant a page dedicated to her.
Being Karl Lagerfeld
The set below was our third one, the outfit and look was something we discussed before I left England. I can’t help but lean into a past life of fashion photography and I’m always drawn to the strong looks that came out of the 90’s. My typical approach to a shoot is to make it up on the day, but that also assumes I have done a bit of my usual planning. I knew the space would be interesting and be full of daylight (windows everywhere). But I was reliant on Laure for the clothes and of course mood. I was up early that morning and my train to Paris wasn’t for a while so knowing that I would meet Laure shortly after I arrived, I decided to go through her profile again. I saved a few shots and shared them with her, making sure to call out the outfits that I liked. This helps me, but importantly it also helps Laure, she can slim her packing and come knowing what I have in mind. I even knew how I saw her hair in these. She is so diverse that her looks can pivot from one to another, a change in hair style and she’s a different person. I said as much when she came out of the small bathroom with her hair slicked back. But it was when she put her sunglasses on that she realised her look was an ode to Karl Lagerfeld. Words that made me immediately happy, Laure was on my wavelength. This was going to be a great shoot!
I still have a number of sets to edit, these are a sneak peek at what is to come
Some words from Laure
The meeting and the shoot with Sam were put together at the last minute, and yet everything flowed with surprising ease. Sam sent me some outfits and a mood he liked that he had seen on my account, the ‘Karl Lagerfeld’ look. I really appreciated this choice, as it’s not something I’m often offered, and it made it easy for me to step into the character.
As a model, and I don’t think this applies only to me, I love creating, embodying different characters and emotions, and I especially enjoy when a photographer manages to draw me into their universe. A photoshoot is like a dance, and Sam knew exactly how to lead it. Unsurprisingly, the result is a series of images that I think turned out beautifully, and that I truly love
Parisian BTS
In January 2026 I had a meal with my friend Elena. She told me she would be in Paris in March to meet with some friends and that I should come. I did as instructed and booked my train ticket. As it turned out, the war in the Middle East would prevent Elena from getting back from Bali in time so I was bound for Paris alone. Undeterred, I would go and enjoy the city and meet many new faces. I’m so glad I did. Below are a few BTS shots from my shoot with Laure and the evenings that followed. Some awesome people below: Top left to right. Me, Aleksander Stojanov, Vallie Plagirafe, Nicolas Larriere, Laure SurLerivage, La Sy, Stefan Rappo. Plus bonus photos with Jordan RTD and on the end, but not last is the always happy Anastasiia (Synastasi.a).
