Olivia Linz
I met Olivia for the first time yesterday, in fact it was a day of firsts as it was also her first day in the UK. This was one of those shoots where nothing was planned, you just made it up in the moment. I had got to the studio early and was excited about the black background and the daylight - this was going to be a fun place to create in. But as Olivia greeted me - a massive grin wrapped up in this awesome long rain coat - I knew we had to use the coat. Olivia was amazing to shoot with, so much energy! It didn’t take long for us to figure each other out and start to take photos we liked. She inspired me to finish a blog post I had been writing on how to take photos of peopel, not how the camera works, but how to ‘see’ someone.
Olivia said at the time it doesn’t matter if you are the best photographer with the best studio and the best equipment, if you don’t have a connection your images won’t mean anything. Her words inspired me to finish off my blog post and include photos of her in it as this shot was a great example of the point I was trying to make. Check it out if you are interested in the topic and if you want to see a few more shots form our shoot together.
